taken back to wwii

Our first stop in Charleston was to Patriots Point to see the USS Yorktown, an aircraft carrier from WWII and it was a site to see!

I was pretty excited to see this thing up close and personal.

The size was quite amazing.

Steve in the Hangar Deck with old planes from the war.

My boys sitting in the cockpit, Steve thought it was quite small.

You could pretty much wander all over this thing and take guided or self-guided tours. Crazy to think of when it was really in use.

Coops peeking out the control room.

Steve in the Captains chair and up on the Flight deck.

Some shots of our wanderings. This was really fun to check out. The stories this ship could tell.
