4 days of harley love

Steve and his dad left today for Bike Week in Daytona Beach, FL for the weekend so be looking forward to some amazing pics of their adventures...stay tuned. Although it makes me a little nervous for their weekend on motorcycles, seeing them all geared up made me pretty excited for their sweet trip - just hope they have a safe ride.

Steve's Dad has a Honda VTX 1300 and he rented Steve a 2007 Harley-Davidson FLSTN Softail Deluxe (an early graduation present). This is what his bike looks like, how cool is that!

last stop: sea kayaking

So before we headed our separate ways on Sunday we went on a 3 hour sea kayak tour out at Tybee Island and IT WAS AWESOME. It was only my third time ever going so I was excited. (Excuse the no makeup mode and unattractive life vest.. hehe) The area was so cool going across the ocean inlet into the marshy grasslands area with these cool creeks winding through for miles. We saw dolphins swimming along and it was great way to enjoy the quiet morning in nature. I have to give a plug for Savannah Canoe & Kayak - Kristin was a great guide.

tales from the south

Although nights weren't my favorite in Savannah, the days were a blast. We had some amazing food, did some great shopping, and walked the whole freaking city Friday and Saturday. We had yummy tapas Thursday night at Jazz'd and a killer dinner Friday night at Local Eleven 10. These are just a few pics of the highlights:
ABOVE: Savannah Cotton Exchange down by River Street

ABOVE: Going down below on river street AND awesome street view of the row houses

ABOVE: Cool Cafe called Gryphon where we stopped for a snack, used to be an old pharmacy in 1926.

scary savannah

Okay so my old friend Judy from work was down in FL for business for the week and since we hadn't seen each other for over a year (since she changed companies) she talked me into road trippin it to Savannah for the weekend so we could hang out and catch up. Little did we know the place she booked for us was HAUNTED.

Although newly renovated with very contemporary furnishings, armoires, and flat screens I could not relax to sleep each of the three nights we were there. As the bellman dropped Judy's bags off the first night he said "how long you guys staying?" Judy answered, "Three nights". Bellman in a serious manner says "oh you will for sure see something then." Aaaagghhhhhhh. I do not recommend staying in ANY place with a back history of haunted stories...

dinner divas do february

It was Italian Night last week for this month's dinner and we had a great time at Kim's house eating Bruschetta, Strawberry/Kiwi/Pinenut Spinach Salad, Rolls, Shrimp Linguine w/Creamy Herb Sauce, and Italian Sodas. Kim did a great job with the love themed table too.

14 days of cupid

So I found this $3 mailbox from Michael's the end of January and thought it'd be fun to leave notes and treats from cupid in it for Steve up until Valentines Day. Little did i know Steve would get excited about the idea and start leaving cupid treats for me too. I have to say Steve wins on best prizes. I think this will be a new fun tradition for February/Valentines.

hole in one

I have to give a shout out to my husband Steve for getting his first hole-in-one on Saturday February 9. He hit the shot. Adam and Steve were watching the ball as it bounced on the green. Started to roll towards the flag. Then disappeared.
Steve in a bit of confusion:
"Did that just go in?"
Adam with reassuring excitement:
"Hey I think you just got a hole in one!"
Foursome of guys playing behind them:
"Hey man, did that just go in?"
Steve, realization setting in:
"Yeah I just got a HOLE-IN-ONE!"
= BEST DAY EVER for a game of golf - way to go Steve-O

a confident vote

I took this quiz tonight while watching the news stats roll in and it made me feel good about my vote. I guess I wasn't just a little biased, I voted right according to my views...did you?

she finally did it

One of my best friends from BYU, Emily Smoot, tied the knot this past weekend in Salt Lake City. The temple ceremony was awesome, it was fun experiencing my third wedding there, including my own. My friend Kristen and I flew in for the weekend's festivities (and left the hubby's at home due to costly plane tickets). We haven't all been together in a few years so we couldn't wait to celebrate Emily becoming a Baker! Her dress was GORGEOUS, I wanted to take it home with me. Congrats Em's, the party was fab-o.

surprise lunch

I flew to SLC for the weekend to go to my friend Emily Smoot's wedding. Since I had a couple hours to kill before I had to be anywhere I showed up on my friendTangi's doorstep for a surprise hello. She told me she was just meeting our friend Steph for lunch and so I tagged along. Good times with great friends.
